The Tribeca Film Festival was founded in 2002 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff as a response to the attacks on the World Trade Center. Now in its fourth year, the Festival's mission is to create platforms for filmmakers to reach the best possible audience for their work.

 

 

Sarasota Film Festival was founded in July 1998 as a balanced festival of foreign, domestic, independent and studio films which engages the commercial film industry.
Soon after, SFF established a year-round presence with off-season premiere events and expanded its relationship with Regal Cinemas to offer more diverse film programming.

 

 

The Telluride Film Festival is not just a picture show. It is a tribute to luminaries who’ve pushed the medium forward; it is discussions with a film’s creator or the historian who champions it; it is running into filmmaker guests and sharing your thoughts; it is engaging in lively debate with a fellow pass holder on the street or in line.

 

 

The Toronto International Film Festival Group (TIFFG) is an essential national and international charitable cultural organization. The very first international Berlin Film Festival opened in 1951.  Today the Berlinale is the city’s largest cultural event and one of the most important dates on the international film industry’s calendar. 

The Berlinale is not only a film industry meeting; it also enjoys by far the largest audience of any film festival in the world.  Around 350 films are shown every year as part of the Berlinale’s public programme, the vast majority of which are world or European premieres.  Films of every genre, length and format can be submitted for consideration.

 

 

The Nantucket Film Festival screens independent, studio-produced, foreign, documentary and short films in every genre, including world and US premiers.  Films are selected with an eye for great screenwriting and story telling. 

Screenwriters, filmmakers, actors, film lovers and industry veterans come together in an inspired atmosphere of collaboration and creativity.

 

 

The eclectic aspect of its programming makes the World Film Festival exciting for its growing number of participants from the five continents.  Every year, films from more than seventy countries, including well known and first-time filmmakers alike, are selected. Many films have been discovered in Montreal.

 

 

Avignon celebrates French, European and American independent film with new films, retrospectives, round-tables on pertinent issues with industry experts, Q&As with filmmakers and receptions, and prizes for emerging filmmakers.

Directors, producers, screenwriters, and actors from invited films come to discuss their work with festival-goers.

 

 



For more than 60 years, the Venice International Film Festival has brought movie stars, moguls, and the media to the Lido.  Venice serves as an important launchpad for Europe's fall movie season.

The Mostra, inaugurated in 1932, is the oldest festival in the world and as part of the Biennale of Venice it is renowned for its particular sensitivity to film as an Art. Besides this it is ideally scheduled to open the fall theatrical season with the prestigious setting offered by the surrounding town of Venice celebrating its century-long history.
