For more than fifteen years, the members of the Myth Machine have successfully produced, directed, and distributed award winning independent films.  Myth Machine’s goal is to provide audiences with extraordinary storytelling, while awarding our investors the highest rate of return, and delivering low budget films that rival the characteristics of high end studio productions. 

Movies are modern day myths.  Audiences flock to the box office to fulfill their primordial need for mythic tales and mythic heroes.  As modern societies drift away from spirituality, their desire for myth ever increases. Cinema seats are filled because of an inherent desire for sacred storytelling.   As Joseph Campbell said, “myths provide us with stories of our search for meaning, for truth, and for significance.  Myths teach, give us our heroes, transform our thinking, and open the world to mystery.”  Movies hold similar powers.  They express what we know inside ourselves to be true.  They contain messages for our lives.  Movies transform us, console us, and inspire us.  Myths and movies are interchangeable.  Movies award us heroes and provide adventure, mystery and romance.   Movies transform us, allow us to dream, feel, and think.  The mission of the Myth Machine is to fulfill the need for myth, through our films. 

During preproduction, Myth Machine raises capital, collaborates with investors, develops innovative scripts, and gains commitments from bankable talent.  In an effort to keep costs low, Myth Machine will shoot the most screenplay material in the least amount of time.   We employ the latest and most efficient film/digital technologies as an additional cost savings measure.  In post-production, Myth Machine will edit furiously, add lush sound and music tracks, and get the film “in the can.”

With a finished feature, Myth Machine will campaign to penetrate the most prestigious film festivals to secure domestic and foreign distribution agreements. We also pursue limited theatrical release in an effort to add value and marketability to the film.  We will negotiate distribution contracts that favor our investors.

With a distribution contract in place, Myth Machine will ensure that the finished film is effectively marketed by overseeing final poster artwork, advertising, and the development of a theatrical trailer.
